Sadegh Seddighi

Dr. Sadegh Seddighi is Professor at the Balanced Energy Systems Research Center at HAN University in the Netherlands. His work focuses on system-level integration of electricity networks, energy storage and green molecules, with a strong emphasis on digitalisation, data-driven energy management and system intelligence in energy systems. He works at the intersection of grids, flexibility, storage and sector coupling, supporting both industrial implementation and public decision-making.
Dr. Seddighi holds a PhD in Energy Technology from Chalmers University of Technology and an MSc in Mechanical Engineering from KTH Royal Institute of Technology (Sweden). He has extensive experience in international research programmes and public–private collaborations, and previously served as a Swedish delegate to the International Energy Agency (IEA). His industrial collaborations include Valmet, Metso and Fortum in the Nordic region, as well as Toyo, Japan Gas Company and Daelim in East Asia. His work contributes to the development of reliable, digitalised and affordable energy systems supporting Europe’s energy transition.
