Philipp Strauss

Dr. Philipp Strauss is the Director of the Division “Power System Stability and Converter Technology” at the Fraunhofer Institute for Energy Economics and Energy System Technology (IEE). In this role, he leads research on maintaining power system stability and advancing converter technologies essential for integrating renewable energy sources. Beyond his responsibilities at Fraunhofer IEE, Dr. Strauß serves as the Spokesperson for the European Distributed Energy Resources Laboratories Association (DERlab e.V.) that he initiated more 25 years ago as a European Network of Excellence. DERlab is committed to fostering collaboration among member laboratories to address the challenges of the energy transition. Dr. Strauß is also actively involved in initiatives aimed at enhancing energy resilience, such as projects focused on developing modular power supplies for emergency and microgrid applications.
