Koen Altena

Koen Altena is active in the development and scaling of smart energy solutions at Zonneplan, one of the Netherlands’ fastest-growing providers of solar and home energy systems. His work focuses on integrating distributed assets such as solar panels, batteries, and electric vehicles into the electricity system in a way that supports grid stability and flexibility. Through Zonneplan’s digital energy platform, he contributes to developing new models for demand response, dynamic pricing, and consumer participation in energy markets. With a strong focus on practical implementation, Koen works at the intersection of technology, customer solutions, and the evolving role of distributed energy in the Dutch power system.
