ZERO – Transfer Opening Visit

19th of MayConnctr Shared Office / ElderveldAll Day

How can cities accelerate the energy transition without overloading the grid — and while keeping citizens at the center?

During Arnhem Electricity Week, the ZERO project opens its doors to a select group of European partner cities for an exclusive Transfer Opening Visit. In the neighbourhood of Elderveld, Arnhem is developing a new approach to energy — combining technology, data and local energy systems with social innovation and active citizen involvement.

Day 1
The first day is all about understanding the context and experiencing ZERO in practice. After a joint kick-off and introductions, participants get to know each other’s cities, ambitions and challenges — setting the foundation for the days ahead.

In the afternoon, the programme moves into the city. During a visit to Elderveld — Arnhem’s living lab — participants experience how the ZERO approach takes shape on neighbourhood level, where energy, technology and community come together. The day concludes with expert sessions that unpack the digital and social building blocks behind the project.
