UES x Netbewuste Woningbouw Dag
On 20 May, Connectr and GMR are organising a full day of knowledge, innovation, and real-world lessons on grid-aware housing construction and local energy systems. We're bringing together frontrunners from the construction and energy sectors, the installation industry, and government.
Morning – Plenary Programme
Grid-Aware Housing Construction: Where Do We Stand?
09:00–12:00 | ACT Eventstudios – Main Hall
We’ll take stock of the challenging realities, the shifting roles in this dynamic field, and the possibilities that innovation offers. We’ll share the latest insights and lessons from frontrunners in the FGU region, and put innovators on the stage. The central question: how do we divide the bill when the benefits only become visible later?
- 9:00 — Doors open
- 9:30 — Welcome & setting the scene
- 9:40 — Grid-aware construction as a societal challenge. Maarten van den Bos (executive commissioner for the Regional Energy Strategy and alderman of the municipality of Lingewaard) and Maarten de Vries (Innovation Manager, Connectr Energy Innovation) take you on an exploratory journey: how does grid congestion stand in the way of the housing construction challenge — and what can we do about it?
- 10:00 — Collective energy systems in practice. Speaker to be announced
- 10:20 — IT infrastructure for data sharing. Marco Thijssen (BAM) on responsible data sharing in grid-aware new housing districts: how do you organise this responsibly across the entire chain?
- 10:40 — Break
- 11:00 — Panel discussion, chaired by Maarten van den Bos (executive commissioner for the Regional Energy Strategy and alderman of the municipality of Lingewaard). With Luciënne Krosse (Alliander), Marco Thijssen (BAM), and two further speakers to be announced — on the stubborn realities, shifting roles, and innovation.
- 11:30 — Technology in the home. NederlandInnoveert on innovations in generation, storage, and smart management of electricity and heat in residential properties.
- 11:45 — Wrap-up
- 12:00 — Lunch
Afternoon – Grid-Aware Construction in Practice
13:00–16:30 | ACT Eventstudios – Main Hall
An event by the UES community in collaboration with Groene Metropoolregio Arnhem-Nijmegen. We go deep into practice and technology: concrete tools for organising local energy systems, with neighbourhood-level case studies, tools for spatial-energy planning, and attention to the societal costs and benefits of grid-aware construction.
Programme
- Grid-aware energy concepts — with a focus on collective systems | Nuna Energy (Peter Paul Smoor)
- The energy and spatial planner in action | DEP
- Energy management at home and neighbourhood level — how do you implement it without lock-ins, in a transparent way? | Wepositive Energy & Currentt (Yanick Slikboer & Koen Mulders)
- Costs and benefits of grid-aware new construction — how do you distribute the (societal) costs and benefits across the various parties in the chain? | CE Delft (Katja Kruit)
This event is part of project IEDEM, made possible with a grant from the Province of Gelderland.
