Energiek – Radboud Universiteit |

Energiek is a board game that teaches players more about the energy transition in the Netherlands. The energy transition has become a societal issue, which also requires significant attention in schools. Professor Hans van Kranenburg and associate professor Sjors Witjes at the Radboud University developed the board game a few years ago. Since then, a second improved edition has been published, which you can play at the Arnhem Electricity Week!

Societal Awareness
Bringing about the energy transition is necessary, but not easy. The transition must be environmentally, socially, and economically feasible. Scientific publications alone are not enough to create broader support in society. Energiek targets companies, students, and the general public. Research shows that games can make a valuable contribution to transitions. Games promote awareness, a positive attitude, and insight into the necessity and feasibility of change.

As a board game, Energiek is best described as a cross between Settlers of Catan, Monopoly, and Trivial Pursuit. Interested? Sign up here!
